Release Notes : v1.6.6

DECTRIS D.LAB is becoming more Project-centric. This release affects how sponsorship works for Sessions (now Virtual Desktops), making it easier to share compute with collaborators.

Improvements & Bug Fixes

New features and changes to Sessions

  • Sessions have been renamed to Virtual Desktops.
  • Only one Project can now be mounted when creating a new Virtual Desktop. Existing Virtual Desktops are unaffected.
  • The Virtual Desktop Sponsor is now inherited from the mounted Project. If a Project was created with License A, the compute for all Virtual Desktops created for that Project will also be sponsored by License A.
  • A Virtual Desktop can now be accessed by different accounts. If Collaborators A and B are working together on a Project, a Virtual Desktop started by Collaborator A with that Project mounted can also be accessed by Collaborator B. Note that only one person can access the Virtual Desktop at a time.
  • A Virtual Desktop can be started and stopped directly from the analysis overview page.
  • Each Virtual Desktop entry on the analysis overview page now has its own dedicated details page where you can add comments and tags, start and stop the Virtual Desktop, or save it as an environment. Similar to the job details page, the Virtual Desktop details page also includes a list of output files saved in the /dectris_data/output directory.
  • It is now possible to change the machine type of a Virtual Desktop that is not running. Click on the change settings button on the Virtual Desktop card to be able to change it.
  • The Virtual Desktop page (previously "My Sessions") can now be filtered by creator and status. By default, you will only see Virtual Desktops created by yourself.
  • Inactive Virtual Desktops will now be automatically deleted after 180 days of inactivity. To prevent a Virtual Desktop from being deleted, simply start it before 180 days of inactivity have passed.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an inconsistency so the Project card on the home page now displays the correct number of Projects for a user.
  • Fixed an issue where the performance tab would sometimes fail to load in the run job workflow.
  • Fixed an issue where lab invitation emails were not being delivered to invitees.

Release Notes : v1.6.0

This release include renaming DECTRIS CLOUD to DECTRIS D.LAB. In addition, we also bring a set of platform improvements and fixes.

Improvements & Bug Fixes

Platform improvements, including renaming of Experiments and the Cockpit

  • Experiments have been renamed to Projects, but retain the same functionality as before. They now exist on one list together with the projects from before.
  • The Cockpit has been renamed to Lab
  • Redesigned Projects page with a new flow to create Projects.
  • View Project contributors directly in the Projects list.
  • Lab owners are now notified when projects are created or assigned under their lab.
  • Jobs are now accessible directly from the Analysis, and the Analysis table supports filtering by type.
  • Public Environments and Job Templates are now accessible from the Library on the side bar.
  • Sessions and Jobs share unified search and status filtering, and executed sessions now appear in the Jobs table.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the My Account dialog appearing in unexpected positions on screen.
  • Viewer job invitations are now correctly stored and displayed as Viewer (previously shown as Member/Collaborator).
  • Path validation warnings no longer block users from proceeding in the run job workflow.
  • Fixed error message that appeared when updating session settings.
  • Fixed issue preventing users from scrolling to the bottom of HTML pages opened in a new tab.
  • Fixed an issue preventing sponsor changes when forking an environment.
  • Fixed the "Save as Environment" button in Sessions, which did not work as expected.
  • Fixed an issue preventing lab owners from creating API tokens.
  • Fixed the run job file browser breaking when a folder contains a large amount of data.
  • Fixed an issue where a standard folder could be deleted when selected together with a non-standard folder.
  • Added a "Go to Projects" button for lab-sponsored projects (experiments).
