Project Deletion

• Owner-Initiated Requests: Project Owners can initiate project deletion directly from the Project Settings page.
• Active Resource Safeguards: Deletion is blocked if any associated Jobs or Virtual Desktops are running, initializing, or in any non-final state. For experiment projects, active uploads in the lab must also be paused before deletion can proceed.
• 24-Hour Email Confirmation: To protect against accidental deletions, the Project Owner must confirm the deletion request via email within 24 hours. If not confirmed within this window, the pending request automatically expires.
• Cancel Pending Requests: Project Owners can cancel a pending deletion request at any point before confirming it via email.
• Stakeholder Alerts & 30-Day Restoration: Laboratory Owners are notified by email when a project deletion is requested, and all invited project members receive an email notification once deletion is finalized. If needed, deleted projects can be restored up to 30 days after deletion by contacting DECTRIS support.

Smoother Analysis & Workspace Navigation

• Automatic Project Context: You are now returned directly to your project workspace after launching a Virtual Desktop or triggering a job run with custom parameters.
• Direct Sign-In Landing: The Projects overview is now your default landing page after signing in, getting you to your active research faster.

DECTRIS D.LAB is becoming more Project-centric. This release affects how sponsorship works for Sessions (now Virtual Desktops), making it easier to share compute with collaborators.

New features and changes to Sessions

• Sessions have been renamed to Virtual Desktops.
• Only one Project can now be mounted when creating a new Virtual Desktop. Existing Virtual Desktops are unaffected.
• The Virtual Desktop Sponsor is now inherited from the mounted Project. If a Project was created with License A, the compute for all Virtual Desktops created for that Project will also be sponsored by License A.
• A Virtual Desktop can now be accessed by different accounts. If Collaborators A and B are working together on a Project, a Virtual Desktop started by Collaborator A with that Project mounted can also be accessed by Collaborator B. Note that only one person can access the Virtual Desktop at a time.
• A Virtual Desktop can be started and stopped directly from the analysis overview page.
• Each Virtual Desktop entry on the analysis overview page now has its own dedicated details page where you can add comments and tags, start and stop the Virtual Desktop, or save it as an environment. Similar to the job details page, the Virtual Desktop details page also includes a list of output files saved in the /dectris_data/output directory.
• It is now possible to change the machine type of a Virtual Desktop that is not running. Click on the change settings button on the Virtual Desktop card to be able to change it.
• The Virtual Desktop page (previously "My Sessions") can now be filtered by creator and status. By default, you will only see Virtual Desktops created by yourself.
• Inactive Virtual Desktops will now be automatically deleted after 180 days of inactivity. To prevent a Virtual Desktop from being deleted, simply start it before 180 days of inactivity have passed.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an inconsistency so the Project card on the home page now displays the correct number of Projects for a user.
• Fixed an issue where the performance tab would sometimes fail to load in the run job workflow.
• Fixed an issue where lab invitation emails were not being delivered to invitees.
