Document your research in a completely overhauled Lab Notebook UI and take full control of your project lifecycle with owner-initiated Project Deletion in version 1.7.2.
Improvements & Bug Fixes
Interactive Project Logbook
- Rich Text Formatting: Document experiments, observations, and protocols using a full rich text editor directly within your project.
- Contextual Linking & Tagging: Connect documentation to actual data by linking specific Job runs using or Virtual Desktop sessions directly in your notes using #hastags, and keep collaborators informed using @mentions.
- Embedded Attachments: Upload supporting data, figures, and reference files straight into individual logbook entries.
- Entry Management: Edit or remove your own logbook entries at any time to keep documentation up to date.
Project Deletion
- Owner-Initiated Requests: Project Owners can initiate project deletion directly from the Project Settings page.
- Active Resource Safeguards: Deletion is blocked if any associated Jobs or Virtual Desktops are running, initializing, or in any non-final state. For experiment projects, active uploads in the lab must also be paused before deletion can proceed.
- 24-Hour Email Confirmation: To protect against accidental deletions, the Project Owner must confirm the deletion request via email within 24 hours. If not confirmed within this window, the pending request automatically expires.
- Cancel Pending Requests: Project Owners can cancel a pending deletion request at any point before confirming it via email.
- Stakeholder Alerts & 30-Day Restoration: Laboratory Owners are notified by email when a project deletion is requested, and all invited project members receive an email notification once deletion is finalized. If needed, deleted projects can be restored up to 30 days after deletion by contacting DECTRIS support.
Smoother Analysis & Workspace Navigation
- Automatic Project Context: You are now returned directly to your project workspace after launching a Virtual Desktop or triggering a job run with custom parameters.
- Direct Sign-In Landing: The Projects overview is now your default landing page after signing in, getting you to your active research faster.
- Cleaner Analysis Table: Accessing the project analysis table no longer automatically opens previous job results, keeping your workspace uncluttered.
- Consistent Analysis Creation: Replaced "Run New Job" with "New Analysis" on the Project Analysis page to unify how you launch batch jobs and interactive sessions.
- Simplified Library: "My Environments" and "Public Environments" are now merged into a single view with quick filters for status and ownership. "My Templates" and "Public Templates" have also been combined into one filterable table.
Updated Lab Space
- Redesigned Lab Cockpit: The Lab Overview and Lab Details pages have been overhauled for clearer visibility of shared resources, members, and lab status.
- Member Removal Workflow: Lab Managers can submit a request to remove a member from a lab and review pending removal requests. Removed members automatically receive an email confirmation.
- Configurable Internet Access: Added laboratory-level configuration flags
- Collaborator Limits: Collaborator limits are now enforced per project based on the active Lab License type.
