# Edit an environment (scripting)

How to edit the configuration of an existing Docker environment

## Step-by-step tutorial

1.  Navigate to the environments overview table via **Analysis** → **Environments** → **Environments**:![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/8a38ba00-c861-4d36-8cf5-c80c66a39f53)
2.  Choose the Docker-based environment you want to edit, and click **EDIT CONFIGURATION**:![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/37007f2b-8b16-4024-a54e-8cd9169a6d97)
3.  Implement the desired changes in the Dockerfile and the support files:![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/336821a6-4bca-4203-9521-c0ed68c964ee)

5.  On the summary page, review the implemented changes and click **START BUILD** to update the environment:![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/ab4b0dac-5cc9-4ba6-a7bb-81b828452274)
6.  Wait for the build to finish and review the build output on the build confirmation page or from the environment table. The environment has now been updated to the new version.
